Inbound Filtering Overview

Total DELIVER
| Total number of messages delivered to your destination
|
Total DEFER
| The email was not accepted for delivery by a remote server. However, the error condition is temporary and the email may be resent for another delivery attempt. 400-series SMTP codes
|
Total Rejects / Total Errors
| The email could not be delivered because of a terminal error. The sender-SMTP is discouraged from repeating the exact request for delivery (in the same sequence). Even some"permanent" error conditions can be corrected (i.e., a typo in the recipient address), so check the accuracy of the address. 500-series SMTP codes

Total
| The cumulative number of Deliver / Defer / Reject / Error messages. The summary of your message volume.

Total DELIVER Sub-Category

Delivered but tagged as spam
| Our classification engine determined the message to be spam, but the system was overridden and the message was delivered.

| Messages that did not violate a filtering policy.

|

Defers due to internal problems
| These messages are deferred because of a problem with our internal processing of the message. The messages are deferred rather than rejected to ensure that the messages are not lost.

Defers due to unknown forwarding destination
| The message was deferred due to a failure to deliver because the destination server was not found. This could be a DNS error or a network problem.

| The message was deferred from delivering to the destination server.

Rejects due to sender being blocked
| The sender has been manually blocked in your black/white list.
|
Rejects due to the recipient being blocked
| The recipient has blocked in your blacklist.

Rejects due to recipient not on the whitelist
| The recipient has not been approved in your recipient whitelist.

Rejects due to sender blacklisted
| The sending domain was blacklisted manually in your black/white list.
|
Rejects due to IP reputation
| The IP reputation of the sending server triggered a block. You can manually whitelist.
|
Rejects due to sender SPF failure
| The SPF record of the sending domain does not authorize the IP of the server attempting to deliver messages.

Rejects due to definitive spam
| Multiple anti-spam engines determined the message content to be spam.
|
Rejects due to virus scan trap
| The message contained an attachment with a virus.
|
Rejects due to DLP scan trap
| The message contained an executable attachment.
|
